FOTD #098 : verdigris waxcap! (gliophorus viridis)

the verdigris waxcap is an agaric fungus in the family hygrophoraceae. not much is known about this mushroom, but it mycorrhizal & has been found in both australia & aotearoa :-)

the big question : can i bite it??
this fungus is inedible !!

g. viridis description :

“the mushroom itself is slimy, & light green. the cap is conical to flat ; the hymenium is adnate. the stipe is bare.”
